Abstract
A child aged 19 months is hospitalised more than 4 hours after an
intake of an undefined amount of foxglove (used by his grandmother).
His clinical picture is as follows: pallor, drowsiness, abdominal
pain, vomiting. Digoxinemia is 14 ng/ml. At the end of the
stage of drug diffusion, it reaches 11 ng/ml; ECG alterations are
modest. A treatment based on 60 mg of anti-foxglove antibodies
(FAB), administered in 100 ml of saline, immediately improves the
clinical picture, whereas the recovery of the heart situation is
slower.
