Lettera di una pediatra di famiglia

Despite a surplus of resources and availability (the highest ratio in the world between the number of paediatricians and hospital wards on the one hand and the number of children on the other hand) Italian paediatrics is, at the moment, facing some major issues: a significant reduction of the paediatric population and increased health expectations by parents resulting in minor or non existing health issues that families are unable to face on their own. Both family and hospital paediatricians agree that a dramatic change in the system is required and the formula of group paediatrics that has already been carried on by isolated groups might be a proper shift in this direction.
