Abstract
Rubella infection during pregnancy may cause serious foetal damages that may lead to abortion or malformations in many organs; in some cases the voluntary pregnancy interruption is chosen. The National Plan for eliminating Measles and Congenital Rubella aims at reducing the incidence of congenital rubella to <1 case /100,000 in alive newborns. The vaccination of not immune women in the immediate post-partum is one of the strategies to apply in order to achieve this goal. In the present work the vaccination activity of not immune puerperas in a small neonatal unit is described and the data of 4 years of activity (2003-2006) are related.
