Abstract
Mucocele is a benign lesion characterized by an extravasation
or retention of mucous in submucosal tissue from minor
salivary glands. Trauma and lip biting habits are the main
cause of these types of lesions. This paper reports a case of mucocele
in an 11-year-old child. Diagnosis and management of
mucocele are challenging. The paper is a review of the clinical
characteristics, differential diagnosis, treatment and evolution
of such lesions to aid decision-making in daily clinical practice.
