Abstract
The Author offers an overview of the problem of pain with no apparent cause in children
and adolescents. Two such cases, the first of fibromyalgia and the second of headache, are
reported. In such cases the quality of the communication with the family and the patient is
crucial and treatment is based on a cognitive-behavioural approach
