Abstract
Narrative-based-medicine (NBM) can help all paediatricians and particularly family paediatricians
to better understand patients’ problems. Patients often present to doctors only a side
of their problems and paediatricians must learn to share with them fears and beliefs.
The Authors report their experience with children and their families in this particular field and
recommend this specific kind of training in order to acquire counselling skills and build a partnership
with their patients.
