Abstract
Chronic inflammatory diseases still represent a very dramatic problem in pediatric age. Therapeutic strategies are improving very quickly, but a complete control of disease progression is still a challenge. In a series of articles we try to address a new approach to treat each different situation. We argue that the therapeutic decision could be based not only on the empiric observation, but also on the knowledge of the molecular mechanism involved in the pathogenesis of these disorders. In these articles we try to correlate the specific biological target of different anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressant drugs with their clinical action.
