Abstract
Formation anomalies and response peculiarities of the newborns’ skin at delivery and in the following days are analysed. In detail: a) formation congenital disorders (cutis aphasia, dimples) and structural congenital disorders (ichthyosis, epidermolysis bullosa, achromic areas, naevi, and Mongolian spots); b) sebaceous (decreasing) and sweat (increasing) gland adaptation; c) bloodstream adaptation (cutis marmorata and Arlequin baby); d) response capacity to external stimuli, especially to the skin-to-skin relation with the mothers, and to pain.
