Abstract
Breastfeeding mothers treated for epilepsia face the conflict of interest between their health and the lactational risk for the nursing infant. According to our review, only ethosuximide and zonisamide are contraindicated. Indeed, the great majority of drugs pertaining to the old and the new generation of antiepileptic drugs are safe for the nursing infant.
