Abstract
Haemophilia A and B are X-linked inherited bleeding disorders, characterized by a posttraumatic
or spontaneous high tendency to bleeding and whose severity correlates with
plasma levels of a specific coagulative factor. In therapeutic terms remarkable changes
have been made about the greater availability of the missing factor (derived plasma
and recombinant factor), so the effects of bleeding and formation of the haemarthroses
can be reduced by adding the factor periodically in relation to the individual needs.
One problem regarding the formation of antibodies that make the treatment ineffective
still remains open.
