Abstract
The article presents the case of a 12-year-old boy admitted to the Paediatric Infectious Diseases Unit for prolonged fever and cervical lymphadenopathy. The several laboratory and instrumental investigations performed to rule out infectious, oncologic, and autoimmune / rheumatic diseases were inconclusive. 8 weeks after the beginning of symptomatology, the removal of cervical lymph node has been miraculously followed by resolution of fever and improvement of the symptoms. In the light of the clinical manifestations, the histological examination, the negativity of the infectious and oncological investigations as well as the spontaneous recovery after excision of the lymph node, the diagnosis of Kikuchi-Fujimoto seems to be the most probable.
