Abstract
Soy-derived proteins are a known trigger for Food Protein Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome. The authors present the case of a sly onset of chronic FPIES in a newborn fed by soy-based formula. The baby’s nutrition was switched to infant formula to avoid human milk, as she was found positive for galactosemia by the extended neonatal screening (the diagnosis was later confirmed by genetic testing).
