Abstract
A 16-year-old girl with a history of partial liver transplant at the age of 5 due to autoimmune hepatitis undergoes a routine follow-up abdominal ultrasound that reveals bladder wall thickening and pseudopolypoid lesions. Cystoscopy and biopsy initially confirm polypoid cystitis cystica and later a nephrogenic adenoma, a rare benign tumour with malignant potential. Pre-operative abdominal MRI unexpectedly detects a foreign body in the vagina, later removed and identified as a 5x3 cm plastic cap. This case highlights the importance of thorough and open-minded clinical evaluation, even in asymptomatic patients, and raises awareness of the long-term complications associated with retained foreign bodies.
