Abstract
The paper describes the clinical case of an unvaccinated 3-year-old girl presenting with a diffuse vesicular rash characteristic of chickenpox. Clinical history revealed that her father had suffered from Herpes Zoster (shingles) approximately ten days prior to the onset of the childs symptoms. The case highlights the transmission dynamics of the varicella-zoster virus (VZV), which may spread from an individual with localised viral reactivation to a susceptible person and lead to primary infection. The report emphasises the crucial role of vaccination in preventing such infections, particularly in households where unvaccinated children are at risk of contracting the virus through contact with adults experiencing VZV reactivation.
