Abstract
Breastfeeding has short and long-term benefits for the mother and baby and leads to the development of a positive emotional bond. Motherhood in adolescence is itself a risk factor and an intervention to support breastfeeding should be carried out during pregnancy. The Adolescent Parent Support Service (SAGA) implements an intervention for young mothers starting from the pre-partum period and is characterised by an integrated therapeutic relaxation technique and psychological counselling. The intervention aims to increase maternal awareness, the awareness of the body and of the sense of self-efficacy to develop the capacity of embodying the baby in the post-partum period, i.e. the ability to understand and empathise with the child by listening to the body resonance of the other's emotions in one's own body.
